Are you ready to take the next step toward healing?

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or general unease or discomfort related to a life transition, childhood or intergenerational trauma, relationship or family dynamics, or unresolved experiences, I am here to support you along the journey toward self-discovery and healing.

Approach

Using a psychodynamic approach, which focuses on understanding how your past experiences influence your present circumstances, and a growth mindset approach, which encourages positive change and personal development, I help you better understand your relationship with yourself and others. My desire is to create a space for deep exploration of both the past and present coupled with a framework for positive growth moving forward.

About

I’m Kristine (she/her), and I am here to support you through life’s challenges, whether you’re navigating a major life transition and questioning your self-identity, dealing with anxiety and depression, or working through a trauma or relationship issue.

As a first-generation American whose parents emigrated from a war-torn country in the sixties, I understand the feelings of generational displacement and the duality, and at times multiplicity, of being a member of more than one culture. I strive to bring a culturally attuned perspective into the conversation while affirming your unique values and strengths.

Trained initially as a teacher and a writer, I have had the privilege of evolving my professional identity based on the opportunities, needs, and challenges of each passing decade. I am a mother, daughter, sister, partner, friend, colleague, writer, and lover of the fine arts. I decompress with hikes in nature and am inspired by the dynamic and, at times, chaotic city of Los Angeles. I bring all these pieces of myself as potential reference points into our therapeutic relationship.

Professional Training

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT #150745, supervised and employed by Alfredo J (AJ) Fernandez Rich, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT #132818. I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and Master of Professional Writing from the University of Southern California (USC). I completed my clinical training at Pelican Cove Counseling Center, where I practiced the psychodynamic theoretical approach under the supervision of Dr. Tamala Black, PsyD, LMFT, and Dr. Soni Kim Monroe, PsyD. I am a member of the professional organization California Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). In addition, I am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), trained by a past president of ICF Global, Dr. Damian Goldvarg, at USC as part of my leadership of the university’s affinity group Women in Management.
